Yesterday opened its doors in Madrid The Houvse, a magical space for space, and for content with a very simple concept: a house, a shop, three floors, thirty windows, ten balconies, a market and fifty makers, designers, brands and collaborators.
Located in the number 40 of General Arrando street in Madrid, very close to Alonso Martínez, this market returns once again to the center of the Spanish capital to show us the game that a period building can give.
A old building, with a wrought iron elevator, which has been transformed to host this pop up store, keeping that way, the charming decay of a building of these characteristics, taking advantage of defects and uncorking to give it personality and show that in decoration, even what in principle can assume something ugly, can be used and transformed with a little imagination, putting for example oak leaf in the openings of the corridors.
The building itself is already worth a visit, thanks to those halls with moldings and high ceilings, the staircase with its elevator, its long corridors, its glass chamfers ... or its entrance, decorated with something as simple as plastics that surround the space and give it a magical touch.
Simple materials to dress and transform this space, such as fabrics to cover room ceilings and hallways and create enveloping atmospheres in which to present the products of the tenants who have gathered at this market that will remain open until December 24.
Among these tenants there are furniture firms, decoration, lighting, dishes, flowers, jewelry, shoes, accessories or books, among many other sectors. Some of them, well known to all of us, with names like Brumalis, Favorite Studio, Overseas Dinnerware, Fiumine ...
S'avallet, ddy Neigbours, The Bohemikans, La Casita de Margaux, Ludus Ludi, Belen Domecq, Kreol Design or Haus & Deco, for citing some of the proposals that you can find in the halls and halls of this unique space that surprise us again one more year.
And finally, after visiting all the posts of the first and second floors, you can not miss the market, with the cafeteria in charge of Olivia takes care of you, in addition to various gourmet proposals…
And the spectacular Sybilla showroom, a space located on the third floor of the building and worth visiting, both for the space itself, with its high ceilings, moldings, large windows and a fireplace, and for the collections of this fashion designer that has just been awarded with the Nacio Design Award 2015.
