Open doors: the peninsula as a solution in an open kitchen in the passage area

One of the most common reforms today in the kitchen, is to turn it into an open space to other areas of the house. That usually helps to make everything much more cozy and makes it easier to share daily tasks to make them more bearable. The kitchen is not only a place to cook, it is a multifunctional space for work, but also for pleasure and leisure.

In this case we find a kitchen that occupies an access area and pass to other rooms such as the living room, the dining room or the laundry, a situation with which many of you will surely feel identified, but Santos Brezo has achieved a harmonious and very functional result for her, let's see it!

For the furniture, the LINE-L model in polar white has been chosen combined with the Cloud Gray PLANE for the column area. They are two designs of minimalist profile that merge with the white walls, ceilings, doors, moldings and chairs, as well as in the wide sliding glass door that opens to the adjoining dining room, forming a discreet, diaphanous and very bright environment.

The office bar wood and shelves, together with the floor pavement, provide a balanced and warm touch to the whole with its contrast. The distribution of the furniture is oriented to make the most of an irregular plant of only 14 square meters, so the room is organized from a central peninsula that, in addition to concentrating the cooking, preparation and office areas, functions as a delimiting element by separating the entrance of the house from the passage area to the dining room.

The equipment is completed with the scrubbing, storage and cold areas, integrated by a composition of low, tall furniture and column that line up on a wall perpendicular to the peninsula. This location favors the access of natural light to the room, while maintaining a free space to move comfortably from one area of the kitchen to another. It is thus demonstrated that a small space well used can be as comfortable as a large one.

The Peninsula is the nerve center of the stay, the place where the dishes are prepared and cooked and where, if you want, you can also taste them. For the preparation and cooking tasks, the peninsula has a large granite countertop, but it also has the wooden bar to the other side for tasting, a really practical solution, don't you think?
