In the world of house architectureSometimes we find very original ideas that present us with a different way of seeing things. Such is the case of this house that seemed to me to have a really exceptional element that defines it completely with this huge glass door It covers the entire back of the house.
The project was in charge of the Dutch architecture and renovation office Sculpt Architecten who sought a way to give a complete turn to a traditional house in the city of Antwerp. The facade, as well as the entire front, respects the traditional architecture while in the back of the house, which overlooks the garden, it was completely transformed to make way for a gigantic two-sided door.
When we talk about a gigantic door for this house, we don't exaggerate much since it measures 3 meters wide by six meters high. In fact, the entire door covers almost all of what would be the back wall of the construction. Mounted on pivots, the setting is divided into two parts that open like a window to the outside.
Inside the house, parts of the ** ceilings ** have been removed between the two levels to create a large open space towards the yard where the door is the main element that lets in an impressive light. No doubt this was a very ingenious and innovative way to give it a modern, bright and really touch. spectacular to what would otherwise be a common house. A good idea that some might be inspired when they want to renew a urban house.
